How we check Starlink prices
Where every number on this site comes from, how we date it, and what happens when it changes.
Every Starlink price here comes from the order data starlink.com loads for a US visitor, last re-read on Nov 4, 2026 with no address typed, and each one is printed with the day we read it.
Rules come from Starlink’s help center and legal documents. Press reports are named in the sentence. Our own arithmetic is labeled.
Where prices come from
Starlink’s order pages load a list of plans and kits before you type anything. We read that national list for two plan families, Residential and Roam, the way any visitor’s browser would see it.
- No address entered. We never type a street address, so the list we see is the national one, not anyone’s local price.
- No login, no order. We don’t sign in and never start a checkout.
- Rules from Starlink’s own text. Referral rules, returns, rentals and billing come from Starlink’s help-center articles and legal documents, such as the Referral Program Terms. Each page lists the exact sources at its foot, with the date we read them.
- Stores, separately. Store prices come from the store’s own page, with a date. Store links are plain links.
Why there’s no single Residential price
Starlink.com won’t show plans or prices until you type an address. According to its help center, location and account type can change which Residential plans, prices and promotions a household sees, and its prices, availability and surcharges can move with network capacity and local demand. One national number would mislead most readers, so we print dated levels instead.
| Date read | Level(s) listed |
|---|---|
| Nov 4, 2026 | $49.50/mo |
| Oct 29, 2026 | $44 or $49.50/mo |
| Oct 21, 2026 | $55/mo |
That is why our pages tie every home price to a date and send you to starlink.com for the one at your address. Roam prices are national, so we print them plainly, still with a date. The full record lives on the lowest monthly price page and in the price drops log.
How we label what we know
| Label | What it means | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Starlink says | Read in Starlink’s own order list, help center or legal text on the date shown. | Roam 100GB at $55/mo on Nov 4, 2026. |
| Named press report | A news or industry report we couldn’t confirm on Starlink’s own pages. We name the outlet and its date in the sentence. | Notebookcheck reported that existing customers were emailed and that the new prices take effect on bills from Nov 30, 2026. |
| Our math | Our arithmetic on Starlink’s numbers, shown so you can check it. | 12 × $55 = $660 a year for Roam 100GB. |
| Our reading | Our plain interpretation where Starlink’s wording leaves room. We say it is ours. | Starlink spends promotional credit only on monthly service charges, never on shop orders or one-time fees; we read the referral credit as following the same rule. |
| Starlink doesn’t publish | We looked and found nothing, so the page says that rather than guessing. | The amount of some kit benefits. |
When we re-read
- Before every update. Any page change that touches a price starts with a fresh read of the national lists.
- After the Nov 30 billing change. Notebookcheck reported that existing customers were emailed and that the new prices take effect on bills from Nov 30, 2026. We re-read the lists and the help center once those bills go out.
- When the press reports a change. Fixes that follow are logged on corrections.
The 30-day rule
Each fact is stamped with the day it was verified. Let a current one go 30 days unread and the pre-publish checks stop the build; nothing ships until that fact is read again. Dated observations from the past, like a price seen on one day in October, are kept as history and labeled with their date.
What the referral link doesn’t touch
Our one income is the Starlink referral reward earned through our referral link. It plays no part in which plan we call cheapest, and the credit is never subtracted from a price. If a store kit is cheaper, we say so, even though store kits never earn a reward. Details: how we make money.
When we get something wrong
We fix it, then log the date and the change in the changelog. Errors that changed a total or a recommendation are also listed on the corrections page. Photos are licensed or public-domain images, credited on the credits page; they illustrate, they don’t document our own setup.
